Starbucks accused of assisting boycott of union stores

Workers United accused the coffeehouse giant of unfair labor practices by sharing a list of union stores with pro-Israel groups angered by "solidarity with Palestine" messages. Starbucks, however, says the list did not come from the company.

Rising demand, better unit economics and an improving labor picture are enticing restaurants to keep the lights on long after dark.

Starbucks accused the union of trademark infringement, arguing that the public mistook the group's views on the Israel-Hamas war for its own. The union defended its name and logo.

The chicken sandwich chain’s cookbook, “Extra Helpings,” will include recipes for some of its menu items, including coleslaw and chicken salad.

The chain is scheduled to begin a test of all-white-meat, whole-muscle chicken nuggets with two new sauces in Minneapolis on Thursday.

The pizza chain, which saw another decline in same-store sales, expects sales to improve later this year and into 2024. But profitability is already better.

The burger giant’s latest promotion, called the “1 in 8 Initiative,” highlights the percentage of Americans who’ve worked at one of the chain’s locations at some point in their lives.
