Chipotle plans to give away more burritos

Chipotle is preparing another burrito giveaway, but this one is far more limited than the promotion that helped it stem a sales free fall in February.

Next Wednesday, any nurse who shows a valid work ID after 3 p.m. can get a second burrito, salad, bowl or order of tacos for no extra charge if they purchase one of the items.

The chain is calling the BOGO deal Code Burrito.

The move comes as Chipotle is still attempting to regain its footing after a series of food safety problems at the end of 2015. As part of that effort, the chain recently patented the term “Chiptopia” for a customer rewards program it intends to implement this summer.
