Delight Restaurant Group is in a buying mode.

The growing operator, which earlier this year acquired 54 Wendy’s locations from the bankrupt NPC International, on Tuesday said it has acquired another 44 locations on Long Island, NY, from the company. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Delight Restaurant Group was already one of the larger franchisees in the U.S., according to the Restaurant Finance Monitor. The company now operates 155 Wendy’s and Taco Bell locations and the company says it plans to continue expanding by building new locations and making acquisitions.

Andrew Krumholz, managing partner at Delight, said his company plans to “build on the strong performance of the Wendy’s in the Long Island market” and that it has “an amazing team in place.”

“We are thrilled to grow with this exceptional portfolio and couldn’t be more excited about the future of the Wendy’s brand,” he said.

Wendy’s has been using such deals to encourage new unit development to grow the brand beyond its current 5,900 U.S. locations, while getting operators to remodel older stores. The company believes that its growing digital presence and recent addition of the breakfast daypart has improved store-level profitability enough to get franchisees to build.
