Bloomin' promotes Sheilina Henry to president of Fleming's

The industry veteran and operations specialist has spent more than a decade at Bloomin’, most recently as group vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion and off-premise dining.

Bloomin’ Brands has promoted Sheilina Henry to president of Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, where she will be in charge of operations and development. 

The industry veteran has been part of Bloomin’ since 2012, when she became a joint venture partner in an Outback Steakhouse. She rose through the operations ranks, eventually becoming Outback’s regional VP of operations in October 2019. 

In 2020, she was named to the newly created position of group vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion. Last July, she added off-premise dining to her responsibilities. 

Before joining Bloomin’, Henry spent more than 12 years in the Pizza Hut system, where she was involved in operations and training. 

“Sheilina’s extensive background in operations and her drive and passion for excellence will help create a meaningful impact at this exceptional brand,” said Bloomin’ CEO David Deno in a statement. “New restaurant growth is a priority at Fleming’s, and it is as close as the new flagship location that recently broke ground across the street from the Restaurant Support Center in Tampa.”

With the promotion, Henry becomes one of the few, if only, Black female presidents in the restaurant industry.

She takes the helm of the 65-unit Fleming’s, which had a strong initial rebound from the pandemic but has cooled down more recently. Same-store sales during the first three months of the year rose 3.6%.
