Flix Brewhouse has promoted COO Chance Roberston to CEO, the company said Monday.

He replaces founder Allan Reagan as leader of the nine-unit dine-in cinema chain.

Robertson has been with the Texas-based company since October 2021, when he joined Flix from theater chain Cinepolis Cinemas, where he was VP of operations. Before that, he was EVP of Austin-based Moviehouse and Eatery from 2017 to 2019 when it was acquired by Cinepolis.

His career in hospitality dates back to at least 1996, when he became a shift leader at Whitt’s Barbecue in Nashville, according to his LinkedIn.

"Chance is a high-energy executive and battle-tested leader in the cinema dining space who has done a superlative job spearheading our resurgence from pandemic depths to admissions and market share growth exceeding all expectations,” Reagan said. “Chance is ready to step up strategically and direct growth of the overall Flix brand.”

Flix was founded in Austin in 2011 and has expanded to nine locations and 78 screens across Texas, Iowa, Indiana, New Mexico, Wisconsin and Oklahoma. Each location features a craft brewery and in-theater dining supported by robotic food runners.
