Paris Baguette promotes its COO to CEO

Darren Tipton is the bakery-cafe chain’s new U.S. CEO, while its former chief executive, Jack Moran, becomes global CEO.

Bakery-cafe chain Paris Baguette promoted its COO to CEO of U.S. business operations, the company announced Tuesday.

Former COO Darren Tipton assumed the new role on Jan. 1. Tipton, who joined the company in 2018, will oversee franchise sales and development, real estate, cafe design and construction, cafe operations and more.

Before joining Paris Baguette, Tipton served as vice president of operations for Le Pain Quotidien.

Jack Moran, Paris Baguette’s former CEO, has been named global CEO for the company. Moran is responsible for development of the brand in the Americas, Europe and other territories, the company said. Before joining Paris Baguette, Moran was CEO of Le Pain Quotidien.

Paris Baguette operates 82 company and franchise units in the U.S. and more than 3,500 stores internationally. The chain started in South Korea in 1988 and opened its first U.S. location in Los Angeles in 2005.
