The 2015 Restaurant Leadership Conference officially opened yesterday, drawing “c”-suite level executives from restaurant operations across all market segments and geographic markets. This year’s invitation-only gathering is expected to be the largest in the event’s history, with a projected attendance of more than 2,000 leaders.
The draws include presentations from likely presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson and former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, who led the successful hunt for Osama Bin Laden.
A special session will look at the recent activities of the National Labor Relations Board and what implications they hold for restaurant franchisors, franchisees and chains that do not franchise. The RLC draws from all three communities for its attendance.
The meeting is being held in a new facility this year, the JW Marriott in Desert Ridge. Included on this year’s program is the patriarch of the facility’s brand owner, Marriott International. Executive Chairman Bill Marriott is taking the stage with is daughter for a conversation about business and leadership.
Also to be showcased is Emil Brolick, the CEO of Wendy’s, who will be interviewed by Dawn Sweeney, president and CEO of the National Restaurant Association.
