Retail stores are not the only ones offering deals on Black Friday. Restaurant operators across the country are also looking to cash in on one of the busiest shopping days of the year. Here’s how some restaurants are encouraging consumers to stop by during their shopping sprees.
1. Shopping center
All Applebee’s locations in Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, Waco and East Texas will offer 10-ounce draft beers for 50 cents from Black Friday through 2 a.m. the following Tuesday, the day after Cyber Monday. The deal is courtesy of Texas franchisee Apple Texas, which hopes that the cheap drinks combined with the restaurants’ free Wi-Fi will encourage guests to do their online shopping at Applebee’s.
Houlihan’s is celebrating Black Friday with its own Drinksgiving celebration. Throughout the day, guests can grab $2 domestic draft beers, $3 select wines and $5 Long Island iced tea pitchers with a choice of regular, peach or raspberry. Guests who purchase $50 in gift cards will also receive $20 in dining certificates from Nov. 24-26.
5. On-trend cocktail
Activated charcoal is the featured ingredient in TGI Fridays’ themed drink The Black Friday, which will be offered to guests from Black Friday through Sunday, Nov. 26, for $5. Along with activated charcoal, the black-colored drink includes white rum, vodka, gin, triple sec, sweet and sour and cola.
6. $1 beer and a coupon book
Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery will entice shoppers to stop by with $1 craft beers all day on Black Friday. In addition, the first 100 guests at each restaurant will have the opportunity to purchase two $50 coupon books. One contains 52 weekly coupons for 64-ounce craft beer growlers and the other features 52 weekly coupons for gourmet burgers.
