Howard Schultz endorses Clinton for president

Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz has endorsed Hillary Clinton for the next U.S. president, according to CNNMoney.

"I think it's obvious Hillary Clinton needs to be the next president,” Schultz told CNN’s Poppy Harlow on Wednesday during a conference held by CNNMoney, citing Clinton’s professional and personal experience.

Though some last year speculated that Schultz himself might make a run for the White House, he confirmed to Harlow that such plans aren’t currently in the works, noting that “this is not the right time.”

Underscoring his interest in politics, Schultz earlier this year sent a memo to Starbucks’ U.S. employees that encouraged them to vote and directed them to a branded site where they could register.
