Logan's taps Hazem Ouf as new chief

Logan’s Roadhouse has named turnaround specialist Hazem Ouf as CEO, filling the vacancy left by the resignation of Sam Borgese when the casual-dining chain filed for bankruptcy protection last August.

The announcement indicated that Ouf will also be a partner in the business, which emerged from bankruptcy in November.

Ouf has led a number of restaurant chains in a 35-year career that started with a job at the London operations of Rank Organisation. Most recently, he was CEO of American Blue Ribbon Holdings Co., the parent of full-service chains O’Charley’s, Ninety Nine, Bakers Square and Village Inn. ABRH specializes in buying and turning around older restaurant brands in need of a refresh.

As part of Logan’s bankruptcy restructuring, the chain closed about 18 stores. The business was founded 25 years ago and today extends to 221 company-run and franchised steak restaurants.
