Chicago-based restaurateur Stephanie Izard is selling ready-to-cook meal kits through online grocer Peapod, in yet another example of how chefs and restauranteurs are expanding their brands beyond their four walls.

Izard has two This Little Goat meal kits available via Peapod, with more selections slated for the fall. Current offerings are Yucatan Fish Tacos with Bean Salad and Belize Grilled Chicken Sandwich.

The kits contain all the premeasured ingredients and instructions necessary to complete the meal.

Last year, multiconcept operator Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises partnered with Peapod to sell meal kits from its restaurant brands. Restaurateur Rick Bayless also has meal kits on Peapod, under his Frontera label.

Izard, a James Beard Foundation Award winner and “Top Chef” champion, is the chef-owner of restaurants including Girl & the Goat, Little Goat, Duck Duck Goat and Cabra. This Little Goat is the name of her line of globally inspired sauces and spices.

With the kits, Izard told the Chicago Tribune, “You have the fun of cooking, but you don’t have to worry about shopping, or buying too much.”
