Pactiv Corporation Honored as Sysco's 2009 Supplier of the Year

HOUSTON (February 3, 2010 - GLOBE NEWSWIRE)—Sysco Corporation announced today that Pactiv Corporation has been named Sysco’s 2009 Supplier of the Year. The award was presented at Sysco’s Super Regional Conference held in Houston, Texas, January 19, 2010. This is the 15th year that Sysco has recognized its top performing suppliers. Pactiv, or its acquired subsidiaries, has been named a Top 100 Sysco supplier each year of the program. They are repeating their first place finish from last year.

In addition to Pactiv, the remaining Gold Suppliers include, in order: Conagra-Lamb Weston, McCormick & Company, McCain Foods USA, Sanderson Farms, Sara Lee Foodservice, Heritage Bag Company, Perdue Farms, Arista Industries, and Ventura Foods. The 2009 Supplier Recognition recipients were selected from over 2,000 eligible suppliers located across the world. The Top 100 were selected based on key business performance metrics with critical evaluation by Sysco’s U.S. broadline distribution companies and Sysco’s corporate merchandising, sourcing, quality assurance, and supply chain departments.

Also announced today are the winners of Sysco’s Sixth Annual Heritage Awards. The Heritage Awards are presented to Sysco’s top women and minority-owned businesses that supply food and food service supply products through Sysco. This year’s recipients include Gold Medalist Windsor Foods, Silver Medalist Carla’s Pasta, and Bronze Medalist Sweet Street Desserts.
