He had been Cinnabon’s brand president.

The classic roast beef sandwich, usually served with a cup of au jus for dipping, is suddenly popping up on restaurant menus of all types.

Customers rank the restaurant chains they say offer the healthiest menu items in a recent Technomic Consumer Brand Metrics survey.

As expected, fast casual is still growing faster than other segments, though Technomic recently suggested its growth may be slowed in the coming years.

These restaurants are looking beyond corned beef and cabbage to draw holiday sales.

Kurt Vonnegut Jr. wrote that “maturity is a bitter disappointment for which no remedy exists,” and so it has been with the coming-of-age fast-casual restaurant segment.
