5 recipes to celebrate the Oscars

Chef Sletten of Abreo restaurant uses hard-cooked eggs as the base for these whimsical, party-ready snacks on a stick. The eggs are coated with a Middle Eastern seasoning and topped with a dab of tzatziki sauce.

Shrimp makes for a festive presentation at Kansas State University, where Camille Korenek offers up the seafood on rafts of cucumber. An Asian-accented marinade flavors the shrimp, watermelon balls make a juicy garnish and the watermelon rind is transformed into an accompanying slaw.

If you're serving a special dinner in honor of the Oscars, these potatoes will take it up a notch or two from the usual baked spuds.
