ID NEWS: IFH to acquire Southern Foods

HICKORY, NC--Institution Food House (IFH), a subsidiary of Alex Lee, Inc., has an agreement in principle to acquire the assets of Southern Foods, Greensboro, NC. The proposed transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2004.

IFH, which rang up $270 million in sales last year, is a UniPro-member broadliner, while Southern Foods, also a member of UniPro, is a center-of-the-plate house.
