Panera’s Kish honored with Leader in Foodservice Award

The evolution of Panera Bread Company’s menu has earned Senior Vice President of Food Dan Kish a Leader in Foodservice Award, an honor bestowed on the most progressive executives in the various branches of foodservice.

The winners are selected by CSP Business Media, the publisher of Restaurant Business, FoodService Director, CSP and Convenience Store Products magazines.  The awards will be presented at CSP’s FARE Conference, a gathering of foodservice executives from restaurants, c-stores, non-commercial facilities like colleges, recreational centers like parks and sports arenas, and other businesses that sell ready-to-eat food. This year’s event will be held June 22-24 in Nashville, Tenn.

Also selected as winners of the sixth annual Leader in Foodservice Award are Rick Abramson, the president of park and resort feeding for Delaware North Cos.; Robby Posener, vice president of merchandising, marketing and design for the RaceTrac c-store chain; and Guy Procopio, director of culinary services for Michigan State University.

In choosing Kish as the leader in restaurants, CSP noted the culinary foundation upon which Panera has built its fast-evolving concept, which is embracing technology to speed service times and customer choice. “Panera has elevated the expectations of today’s consumer, in turn elevating the quality of the industry as a whole,” it said in announcing the awards.
