The Los Angeles native and former hedge funder decided to change the trajectory of his life after reading Taylor Branch’s books on Martin Luther King Jr. He found the cause of his life after watching documentaries about health disparities in underserved communities, and Everytable was born.

The goal of the health-focused concept is to make healthy food as cheap and ubiquitous as McDonald’s, and in the process fill food deserts and give low income people of color an opportunity at franchising. The social equity franchise program awarded its first franchise in January to a mother of three and plans to expand that to 40 minority entrepreneurs over the next two years.
