U.S. Foodservice Completes Sale of SOFCO



SOFCO is a specialty distributor of janitorial/sanitary, healthcare, industrial packaging and paper products in the Northeastern United States. The buyer is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bunzl plc, the United Kingdom-based international distribution and outsourcing company.

In a related story, Ahold, the Holland-based parent multinational owner of the second largest U.S. distributorship, is expected to report second-quarter net profit of EUR126 million (US$157.25 million), according to a Dow Jones poll of six analysts.
