2017 Top 500: Sandwich

Subway footlong roast turkey sub

The sandwich category increased sales by 2.9% and units by 0.3%, despite category heavyweight Subway's 1.7% sales decline and 1.3% unit decline. Newk's Eatery, Jersey Mike's Subs, Pret a Manger and Which Wich were among the chains whose double-digit increases in sales and store counts drove the category's growth.
