Franchisees' issues get the spotlight

Franchisees will have a chance during a new feature of the Restaurant Leadership Conference to learn how some of their most successful peers are handling common challenges and opportunities.

A panel discussion of restaurant franchisees will address such issues as how to keep a concept fresh, its sales and profits growing, and a franchise company's management at the top of its game.

The participants hail from a variety of fast-casual, quick-service and casual-dining chains, from Smashburger to Buffalo Wild Wings to Taco Bell.

Entitled “Learn from the Industry's Best,” the general session stars Greg Flynn, whose Flynn Restaurant Group operates Applebee's and Taco Bell units; Mike Givens, a Wendy's franchisee; Roz Mallet, whose company operates Buffalo Wild Wings, Smashburger and Corner Bakery outlets in non-traditional settings; and Mark Peterson, a Taco Bell operator.
