NRA Urges Bipartisan Resolution of Immigration Issue

John Gay, NRA senior vice president of government affairs and public policy, who also serves as co-chair of the Essential Worker Immigration Coalition (EWIC), in a statement noted that a "great deal of progress was made over the past two weeks as the Senate debated the issue of immigration reform."

While calling the inability to reach a compromise "disappointing," Gay said the possibility of an understanding is "very much alive."

"We hope that during the congressional recess leadership on both sides of the aisle will come to agreement on terms of the debate and that the Senate comes back to consideration of the measure promptly," he said.
