How does a mall-based concept evolve when more consumers are staying home?

This week’s edition of the Restaurant Business podcast “A Deeper Dive” features Heather Neary, president of Auntie Anne’s, who talks about how the chain is evolving with today’s consumers.

The Lancaster, Pa.-based pretzel chain operates 1,300 locations in the U.S. and nearly 2,000 globally. The company, which grew in part by locating inside malls, has had to shift its focus as shopping habits have changed and consumers are going out less.

And it has also had to adapt to a world with delivery. Neary discusses this evolution, as well as the chain’s strategies for developing new menu items around its core product.
