Quiznos plans for growth with new exec roles

Quiznos has created two new global executive positions in an effort to centralize marketing and operations, spur sales growth and increase franchisee profits, the toasted-sandwich chain said Friday.

George Jeffrey, who has held the role of chief operating officer for Quiznos Canada since 2009, has been appointed global COO. In his time with the brand, Jeffrey has “led the expansion and overhaul of Quiznos International operations,” Quiznos said.

In addition, the chain named Susan Lintonsmith global chief marketing officer. Lintonsmith had previously served as CMO of Quiznos’ domestic division, spearheading a shift from traditional to digital media marketing.

By consolidating its global leadership, Quiznos said it will be better able to collaborate with franchisees to improve and grow several aspects of the business through aligned operations and marketing endeavors.

"As we look to the future growth of Quiznos, we're first and foremost committed to ensuring existing restaurants and franchisees thrive," CEO Doug Pendergast said. "Susan and George bring the tenacity and capabilities necessary to align global efforts and return Quiznos to its rightful place as the leader in the premium hot sandwich category."
