Millennials have elevated brunch to a lifestyle, giving rise to the word “drunch” to stress the importance of drinking to this meal occasion. While bloody marys and mimosas are the default brunch drinks—often served in shareable pitchers for the table—other cocktails are making more frequent appearances. Some reflect the menu, such as margaritas and palomas at Mexican restaurants, while others are signatures created just for the brunch daypart. With coffee programs such a key part of brunch service, bartenders are now turning to espresso drinks and cold brews as the inspiration for morning cocktails.
