Wingstop appoints new president of international division

Wingstop Inc. has named Larry Kruguer to the newly established position of president of international, the company said Tuesday.

Kruguer, who most recently held the position of vice president of international ventures and key markets for Wendy’s International, will be responsible for growing and building key international markets for Dallas-based Wingstop. He will report directly to CEO Charlie Morrison.

"As a seasoned executive with over 25 years of global experience across consumer companies including major restaurant corporations, Larry's extensive background in international markets and franchise leadership will be instrumental in helping Wingstop grow its global presence," Morrison said in a statement. "His broad skill set, acute international knowledge and proven track record makes him a strong addition to the Wingstop team. We look forward to his meaningful contributions that will continue to foster the growth of our great brand."

At the end of the first quarter of 2015, Wingstop operated 45 franchised restaurants in six countries outside of the U.S., including Mexico, Russia, Singapore and the Philippines. The company says it has commitments for an additional 310 international locations.
