The National Restaurant Association’s ServSafe food safety training and certification program is offering its online Food Handler training programfree through April 30. The training has helped educate more than 3 million line-level and front-of-house employees on food safety.
As restaurateurs focus their businesses on takeout and delivery, ServSafe also offers two free training videos to help reinforce safe food handling and safe delivery practices for all operations:
- ServSafe Takeout: COVID-19 Precautions
- ServSafe Delivery: COVID-19 Precautions
Each module runs about 10 minutes, so it’s easy for restaurant staffers or delivery drivers to view the training quickly during a shift.
The Association and its affiliate, the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI), also are offering training classes to help employees up-skill to advance their careers. The courses, available free of charge throughout April, include:
• ServSuccess Restaurant Professional and Restaurant Supervisor learning suites
• AHLEI Supervisory Skill Builders, Hospitality Manager: Leadership, and Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) Review courses
We want to help our dedicated professional workforce position themselves for career opportunities that will become available when our industry is able to open its doors and host guests again.
