After years of discussing a possible merger, Indiana-based distributors Stanz Foodservice and Troyer Foods have agreed to combine their operations.
The structure of the deal and other details were not disclosed.
The parties say their merger will form the largest foodservice distributor in Indiana. Both companies have their strongest presence in the northern part of the state.
Dick Armington will serve as CEO of the corporation. He was formerly president of Troyer.
Mark Harmon will hold the title of president. He has been the leader of Stanz.
“It was important to both companies to remain local, retain all of our people, and provide a strong future growth path and this merger achieves that,” Harmon said in a statement.
“We have high regard for each other's company and have built a professional friendship based on trust and respect," Armington said in the statement.
Both companies have been serving the northern Indiana market for decades. Stanz was founded in 1923. Troyer began in 1948.
