Fast-casual chain Freshii named a new CFO Tuesday to replace the executive who resigned in April.

Daniel Haroun, who previously worked in senior management for Restaurant Brands International, will assume the CFO post Aug. 26.

He takes over for Craig De Pratto, who left the Toronto-based health-focused chain after several years.

“Dan has a strong strategic and operational background as a financial leader, with considerable experience in the franchised restaurant and retail spaces, which will be beneficial to both our traditional restaurant and CPG lines,” said Matthew Corrin, Freshii’s founder and CEO, in a press release.

Freshii, which has 446 stores in 16 countries, has struggled recently, shuttering units and reporting significant same-store sales declines.
