Nik Rupp named Papa Murphy’s CFO

The former bicycle company executive will replace Mark Hutchens, who had been named COO.

Papa Murphy’s on Tuesday named Nik Rupp the chain’s new chief financial officer.

Rupp replaces Mark Hutchens, who has been moved to the position of chief operating officer.

Rupp is an experienced financial executive, having spent the past two years as CFO with Specialized Bicycle Components, and the previous two years as its global controller. He had previously held positions with Nike and Converse.

Papa Murphy’s CEO Weldon Spangler lauded Rupp for his “financial leadership and strategic planning expertise.”

Spangler said that his move to chief operating officer will enable Hutchens to focus on the profitability of the chain’s franchisees.

Papa Murphy’s, based in Vancouver, Wash., operates more than 1,500 take-and-bake pizza shops.
