Restaurants aim to draw diners this tax season, whether customers are celebrating a big refund or drowning their sorrows after forking over funds to Uncle Sam. From larger chains to a few local options, here are some creative Tax Day offerings.
Those filing their taxes last minute can stop by Hot Dog on a Stick and grab the perfect snack option on the go. On April 18, the quick-service chain will give customers one free Original Turkey Dog, no purchase or proof of completed taxes necessary.
After turning in their 1040s, diners can head to Boston Market to take advantage of a special deal. On April 18 only, the roasted-chicken restaurant will offer up half-chicken meals—which come with two sides, cornbread, a regular fountain drink and a cookie—for $10.40.
Sonny’s is offering its own version of a tax break by doling out discounted St. Louis-style ribs on Tax Day. At participating locations, dine-in and takeout customers can enjoy dinner portions of either Sweet & Smokey or Sonny’s House Dry-Rubbed Ribs with two sides and bread for half price.

Participating Great American Cookies locations are sweetening tax season with free Birthday Cake cookies for customers. This is the fifth year Great American Cookies have given away their freshly baked cookies on Tax Day, making it an annual treat consumers can anticipate each April.
