Compass Group is Named a Top 100 Employers by Diversity Employers Magazine

CHARLOTTE, NC (March 23, 2011)—Compass Group is pleased to have made Diversity Employers Magazine’s (formerly The Black Collegian) Top Employers for the Class of 2011 list once again this year.

Ranked 41th on the list, this is Compass Group’s best showing to date. They are on target to hire over 430 graduates from 20 campuses, increasing not only the number of graduates but the number of campuses visited by the College Relations team. Of those grads, 85 % are diverse candidates.

Amy Tormey, Senior Recruiter for Resource Network, Compass Group’s Recruitment Department, explains, “Over the years, we have refined our recruitment strategy and widened the criteria for the type of graduate we are seeking. In the past, we’ve focused primarily on hospitality students but now we’ve expanded to include business and finance grads. Their skills are easily transferable to the careers opportunities we offer as a food management and support services company.”

The complete list of all the Top 100 Employers for 2011 and Additional Top Hiring Employers is available at www.diversityemployers.com.

The job outlook for the Class of 2011 offers “a spark of hope,” according to employment research and hiring survey results appearing in the Premier Issue of Diversity Employers Magazine. In the Top 100 Employers List and Majors in Demand – an annual survey by IMDiversity, Inc. to determine the most active recruiters of college seniors for entry-level jobs – more than 120 employers projected making more than 8,432 campus recruitment visits and some 87,221 hires this year.
