Crumbs Bake Shop

Crumbs Bake Shop’s famous cupcakes have put them at the forefront of the recent cupcake craze.

J. Christopher’s specializes in breakfast and lunch, boasting entrees such as its trademark “blueberry crunchcakes” (pancakes made with granola) and the pimento cheeseburger.

The heavy-hitters behind Stir Crazy like to bring the “kitchen right out into the dining room” for an eating experience like no other. A pan-Asian concept with “bold and delicious” flavors, the chain also features 35 wines by the glass that go well with the Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese dishes.

The self-proclaimed “ice cream lovers’ frozen yogurt,” Golden Spoon has continually refined recipes and opened new locations to develop the “best frozen yogurt outposts in the world.” The chain claims it sells more frozen yogurt in southern California than any other concept.

Jumbo Buffalo wings are the signature here, but the Etc. part describes baby back ribs, nachos, fried pickle spears, even salads.

Fussy coffee drinkers can choose from more than 30 premium coffee blends at this welcoming coffeehouse chain.

The kitschy lively atmosphere at this full-service Cajun-style concept makes it attractive to a wide demographic.

This American grill with a sports theme has been around since 1891. Golden Rule has two separate configurations: a full-service barbeque and steakhouse and a traditional roadside barbeque pit. Units are clustered in Alabama, Tennessee and Missouri.

After its acquisition by private equity firm The Walnut Group in late 2006, Stir Crazy is powered by some heavy hitters: chairman Frederic Mayerson was a cofounder of Chi Chi's Mexican Restaurants, CEO Michael Strauss created Harry's Pacific Grill and president and COO Greg Carey is a former COO of P.F. Chang's China Bistro. That last credential is particularly relevant for Stir Crazy, a full-service casual concept that features Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese food with a focus on fresh, quality ingredients and bold flavors. Six units are scheduled to open this year.
