Jack in the Box this week named Tony Darden the company’s new chief operating officer as it looks to continue overhauling its executive team.

Darden joins the San Diego-based burger chain from Mooyah Burgers, Fries and Shakes, where he was the president for the past two years. He has also worked with Taco Bueno and Sun Holdings and has worked with Panera Bread and Bennigan’s.

Darin Harris, Jack in the Box’s CEO, called Darden “the right person to lead operations at Jack in the Box by partnering with our franchisees to focus on operations excellence and restaurant profits.”

Darden himself said that “Jack’s future success will be a function of enabling our franchisees in delivering exceptional guest experiences that enhance brand loyalty and accelerate their growth.”

Darden will start work at Jack in the Box in June. He is the fifth new c-suite hire under Harris, who joined the brand last year. Jack in the Box operates 2,200 locations in 21 states.
