Wendy’s recently named Deepak Ajmani its U.S. chief operations officer.

Ajmani had previously been senior vice president of company restaurant operations, a role that was separate from one that oversaw the company’s franchise operations.

The Dublin, Ohio-based burger chain recently opted to combine its U.S. franchise and company operations under a single department under Ajmani. He will report to Kurt Kane, president of Wendy’s U.S. and chief commercial officer.

The move comes as Wendy’s continues to tweak its management and operations—it recently named Kevin Vasconi chief information officer, for instance. The company revamped its leadership last year, naming Kane to oversee the U.S. while Abigail Pringle was named president of Wendy’s international.
