Andy Wiederhorn is stepping aside as Fat Brands CEO

Citing a federal investigation tied to him last year, the founder of the owner of Fatburger, Twin Peaks and Johnny Rockets is stepping aside to serve as a strategic advisor.

Wyatt joins the 73-year-old regional chain after working for such brands as Starbucks and Panera.

The former Domino’s CEO, who returned as executive chairman of Burger King owner Restaurant Brands International in November, said he is “all in” with his new position.

The 11-year company veteran, who had been COO, will take over for José Cil on March 1. Cil will remain with the Burger King and Tim Hortons parent company for one year as an advisor.

Max Wetzel, who has worked with the company since 2019, is leaving to take a CEO position “at another company.”

Debbie Stroud, who also spent 27 years with McDonald's, will take over operations at the 900-unit Whataburger.

The former is the chain's new COO, while the latter will now be responsible for all marketing.

Leigh Burnside served previously as CFO or Wendy's U.S. She replaces Darrell Snygg, who is retiring.

Julie Younglove-Webb was named chief brand officer for Auntie Anne’s while the brand operator named new heads of design and real estate.
