How MOD Pizza is combating the pandemic

Scott Svenson, co-founder of the fast-casual pizza chain, joins this week’s episode of “A Deeper Dive” to discuss the company’s strategy for dealing with the COVID-19 shutdown.

How does one of the fastest-growing restaurant chains in the U.S. deal with the sudden onset of closed dining rooms?

On this week’s episode of the Restaurant Business podcast “A Deeper Dive,” Scott Svenson, CEO and co-founder of MOD Pizza, talks about the company’s response to the pandemic.

MOD’s system sales grew nearly 24% last year, according to data from Restaurant Business sister company Technomic. While the pandemic has been a challenge for many brands, for fast-growth chains like MOD, it’s been a completely different experience.

Svenson talks about that challenge and how a company built on dine-in business like MOD has had to evolve for a takeout customer.
