April brings a fresh line of Cherry Berry beverages across all Chick-fil-A restaurants and the test of a new chicken sandwich exclusively in Raleigh, N.C. locations.

The Pretzel Cheddar Club Sandwich debuts in test Monday and will run while supplies last. It features a boneless grilled or breaded chicken breast layered with green leaf lettuce, sliced tomato, soft seasoned cheddar cheese and applewood smoked bacon on a toasted cross-cut pretzel bun with creamy Dijon mustard sauce on the side. Chick-fil-A regularly utilizes feedback from culinary tests to determine whether a new offering will launch systemwide in the future, the Atlanta-based chain said in a statement.

Seasonal beverage innovation has been a focus for the chicken chain since 2017. The four pink-hued limited-time options in the Cherry Berry collection tap into that trend:

Cherry Berry Sunjoy combines Chick-fil-A’s signature Sunjoy blend of sweetened iced tea and lemonade with cherry, blueberry and cranberry flavors

Cherry Berry Lemonade is a mix of classic Chick-fil-A lemonade with cherry, blueberry and cranberry flavors

Cherry Berry Iced Tea starts with iced tea freshly brewed daily from a blend of tea leaves, then combined with cherry, blueberry and cranberry flavors

Cherry Berry Frosted Lemonade combines lemonade or diet lemonade with the chain’s iconic Icedream dessert and cherry, blueberry and cranberry flavors

“Our guests have always enjoyed both cherry and berry flavors, especially during the Spring season,” said Chick-fil-A Chef Christy Cook in a statement. “We wanted to explore how to deliver that burst of fruit flavor they love, in a way that is unique to Chick-fil-A. Be on the lookout for other exciting beverage flavors to come and maybe a few familiar favorites from the past.”

The beverage category has gotten a lot of menu attention lately, especially in the quick-service sector where the competition is heating up. Dedicated beverage concepts, coffee chains and fast-food brands are all vying for the drink customer with frequent LTOs, new flavors and new formats.
