Taco Bell seems to be diving in on Baja Blast menu innovation.

The Mexican chain recently tested gelato with the flavor of its signature soda, and now, it’s entering the world of energy drinks.

Taco Bell and Mountain Dew have teamed up to launch two Baja Blast-flavored energy drinks—the first is Baja Blast Charged Berry, which features the original Baja Blast flavor with an added swirl of sour strawberry. The drink will be sold in one size for $4.50 or $4.99, depending on the location. Or diners can opt for the Mtn Dew Energy Baja Blast, which is sold in a can for $2.50 or $2.99.

Diners can find the beverages until Sept. 28, or while supplies last, at one Calif. location and two units in Ariz.

Energy drinks seem to be growing in popularity lately. In fact, Restaurant Business sister company Technomic cited energy drinks as one of the fastest-growing items at Top 500 chains in 2023. (They  jumped 34% on menus compared to the year prior.) Technomic also named energy drinks one of the top 10 non-alcoholic beverages added to menus in Q2 of this year.

And chains that sell these drinks appear to be doing well. Coffee brand Dutch Bros, for instance, is known for its energy drinks, and has seen a recent sales increase. In 2022, the chain's sales were up by 27.3%, according to Technomic.
