A&W, Slice House, 16 Handles and more make executive moves

Amanda Potts is the new vice president of marketing and innovation for A&W Restaurants.  Previously she was director of franchise marketing at Valvoline Inc. and has worked with companies like Fazoli’s.

Fred Frey is the new vice president of franchise development for the frozen dessert franchise chain 16 Handles. Frey was most recently the director of franchise development at Shipley Do-Nuts, where he played a key role in that chain’s expansion, securing 117 agreements last year alone.

Tom Leeper has been named senior vice president of operations for Slice House by Tony Gemignani, the San Francisco-based fast casual artisan pizza concept. In this role, he will focus on driving operational efficiency and revenue as the brand expands. Leeper brings decades of restaurant experience to the job, including positions with Starbucks, Dunkin’ and Inspire Brands.

Iced tea franchise HTeaO announced the appointment of Jodie Chau as vice president of supply chain. With over 20 years’ experience in the food and beverage industry, Chau is skilled in operational excellence, global sourcing, supplier relationship management and cost-saving strategies. She previously held procurement positions with Dickey’s and Chipotle.

Mountain Mike’s Pizza has promoted Steven Adyani to the role of chief operating officer for the 300-unit chain. Adyan has been with the chain for five years, most recently as vice president of operations, and before that worked with Red Robin, The Cheesecake Factory and with celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

Biscuitville Fresh Southern has promoted four team members into leadership positions.

Heather Banner, previously an area director, is now regional director, overseeing the Western region.

Shawn Dolan is the new director of procurement. Dolan joined the company in 2021 as purchasing manager.

Keith Hobson, who has been with Biscuitville since 1983, is the new senior area director.

And Chris Smith is also senior area director, after serving as an area director since 2019. Smith first joined the chain in 2011 as a team member.

Huddle House has named Stephanie Mattingly vice president of marketing. She has 25 years’ experience in restaurant and retail marketing.

Bradley Midgett has been named executive chef of City House in Nashville, which is a promotion. Midgett has been on the restaurant’s team for 12 years and has become a heavy influence on the menu and has built relationships with farmers, ranchers and purveyors.

Bailey Sullivan has also been promoted from chef di cucina to executive chef at Monteverde Restaurant & Pastificio in Chicago. She joined the restaurant in 2016 and competed with chef/owner Sarah Grueneberg on Season 22 of Bravo’s “Top Chef.”

Ali Dey Daly is the new director of culinary for the Park Lane New York, a Highgate-managed hotel. Daly will be the creative force behind three restaurants at the property, including Calvert’s restaurant; the lobby bar Rose Lane and the rooftop lounge Darling. Daly was previously executive chef at Baccarat Hotel New York.

Sam Henzy is the new executive chef at the Philadelphia restaurant Fork, operated by High Street Hospitality Group. Henzy’s previous experience includes the restaurant Noma in Copenhagen, as well as Quince and Angler in San Francisco. And he spent also worked with Philadelphia chef Greg Vernick at Vernick Food & Drink.
