Taco Bell names Sean Tresvant global chief brand officer

He previously led marketing for Nike’s Jordan brand. He will now lead marketing efforts for the fast-food taco chain.

Taco Bell on Thursday named former Nike executive Sean Tresvant the chain’s new global chief brand officer.

He will take over the position effective Jan. 10.

Sean TresvantAt Nike, Tresvant was the chief marketing officer for the athletics wear maker’s Jordan Brand, where he was “responsible for defining the Jordan Brand voice across the globe.”

At Taco Bell, he will oversee global marketing, including omnichannel initiatives and digital customer touchpoints “to further elevate and differentiate the Taco Bell fan experience as the brand continues redefining innovation in its industry.”

“His team at the Jordan Brand will tell you that Sean has always been a great friend, colleague and compassionate leader,” Taco Bell CEO Mark King said in a statement.

Tresvant in a statement called Taco Bell “a marketing powerhouse of trailblazers.” He said the brand is “pushing the limits on what it means to be a brand in today’s rapidly evolving culture.”

Taco Bell noted that Tresvant is committed to social justice and community impact initiatives. He led the Diversity Task Force at Nike and helped bring back Jordan Brand’s Black Community Commitment Committee. He also revitalized Nike Running in North America and created a local brand voice for Los Angeles.
