Looking to score some free chicken? It’s your lucky week. Ahead of National Chicken Wing Day on July 29, chicken chains are competing to offer the best deal.

If chicken’s not your thing, National Drive-Thru Day also took place this week.

National Chicken Wing Day

Buffalo Wild Wings is offering six free wings when guests dine in on July 29 and spend at least $10. In addition, Wingstop has branded its own holiday in honor of the wing-centric day, which it calls Wingstop Wing Day. This year, the chain will give out five free wings when customers use the code FREEWINGS either online or in the Wingstop app.

Fat Brands is celebrating the day across a variety of its concepts. Hurricane Grill & Wings is offering $12.99 wings, either in store or online. At Native Grill & Wings, diners can score 59 cent wings all day on July 29, and the concept is offering a new sauce for loyalty members only; its Secret Weapon Sauce is medium heat and made using chicken seasoning, black pepper and garlic powder.

Even Fatburger has a wings deal. Participating co-branded Fatburger and Buffalo’s Express locations are giving out free three-piece wings with the purchase of any Fatburger Meal when ordering online. The deal takes place on July 29 but will continue every Wednesday until Aug. 31. To get the deal, customers must use the code WINGMAN23.

National Drive-Thru Day

It’s no surprise then that consumers love the drive-thru. What’s better than ordering your favorite food from the convenience of your car? Well, some restaurant chains tapped into the demographic of drive-thru lovers by celebrating National Drive-Thru Day on July 24, a holiday that dates back to 2002 and was established by QSR Jack in the Box.

To celebrate the holiday this year, Dunkin’ Donuts offered its rewards members 100 bonus points when ordering ahead on the Dunkin’ app.

Meanwhile, Del Taco is celebrating with one of the only things more convenient than a drive-thru—free delivery. The taco chain is offering its rewards members free delivery on any $20 purchase until Aug. 13. The deals don’t end there, either. On July 24th, Del Taco gave rewards members a buy-one-get-one offer on the its Del Taco combo meal. The chain appears to be pushing its rewards program after revamping it last week.

Tully’s Tenders also highlighted online ordering on National Drive-Thru Day. The chicken chain offered customers $5 off when ordering online with the code DRIVETHRU.

Credit cards and coffee

If you live in Canada and frequent Tim Hortons, the coffee chain has a new offering that may interest you: a Tims credit card. And the card is helping loyalty members stock up on rewards points.

For a limited time, Tim Hortons is providing a welcome offer of up to 5,000 Tims Rewards Points. In addition, cardholders earn 15 points per dollar when they use their card on eligible purchases and scan for Tims Rewards.

Celebrating uncles and aunts

In honor of National Uncle and Aunt Day, which took place on July 26, ice cream concept FatBoy has declared itself the “Official Ice Cream of the Fun Uncle and Aunt.” What does that actually mean? I’m not entirely sure. But to celebrate the holiday, the chain is also holding a giveaway for a Funcle or Faunt Starter Kit. The kit will include napkin shirts, an ice cream scooper (apparently approved for fun relatives everywhere) and a guide to being a Funcle/Faunt.

Birthday fundraiser

In honor of its third birthday, Rock N Roll Sushi hosted a concert to raise funds for nonprofit organization Reach and Teach. The event featured music performances from 1980’s hard rock cover band The Velcro Pygmies, and 20% of the event proceeds were donated to Reach and Teach. For diners who aren’t partial to rock music but still want to give back, Rock N Roll Sushi is selling Helping Guitar Picks throughout the month of October. The proceeds will go to the Reach and Teach Concert Tour.

Sculpture party

Kelly’s Roast Beef, a Massachusetts-based chain, is sponsoring the 19th annual Revere Beach International Sand Sculpting Festival, which features world-class sculptors and a variety of food trucks and vendors. At the event, which takes place this weekend, Kelly’s will serve up its sandwiches.
