Eric Martino, formerly the COO of Washington, D.C.-based José Andrés Group, was named president of chef and restaurateur Michael Mina’s multi-concept portfolio, the company said Monday.

Martino, who officially started in his new role at San Francisco-based Mina Group on Monday, will work closely with CEO Jason Himber overseeing restaurant operations for the 30-some concepts, as well as supporting future growth.

José Andrés Group is similarly sized. There, Martino also oversaw about 30 restaurants across nine international markets, with about 2,000 employees and more than $275 million in revenue. In his six years with Andrés, Martino oversaw the opening of Mercado Little Spain at New York’s Hudson Yards, as well as hotel partnership agreements with the Conrad Los Angeles and Ritz Carlton Nomad in New York City.

“Eric Martino’s appointment marks an exciting chapter for Mina Group,” chef and restaurateur Michael Mina said in a statement. “His extensive experience in restaurant operations makes him the ideal candidate for this position, but what really sets him apart is his dedication to people. Eric is an exceptional leader with a passion for building and supporting teams, and we look forward to working together to grow our Mina Group family so that we can continue to create exceptional dining experiences for our guests.”
