Pizza Hut in China is very different from Pizza Hut in the U.S.
Just take a look at the new store design the company revealed this week.
Yum China, which operates Pizza Huts as well as KFC and Taco Bell for Yum Brands in the country, this week revealed a new look for the pizza concept at a location in Shanghai's Global Harbor shopping mall.
Pizza Hut is mostly a casual-dining concept in China and has 2,200 locations there. The new-look restaurant is decidedly more upscale.
The design doesn’t stop with the restaurant. The company revealed a new line of autumn and winter store uniforms. The company partnered with New York fashion designer Anna Sui, who inspired the “rock ’n’ roll style” of the uniforms, on display at 15 themed restaurants across China.
In addition to the redesigned Shanghai location, the company opened a “pioneer” store in Nanjing, China last month. That will enable the company to test new menu innovations before taking them national. The chain plans to open more such stores in different parts of the country “to gain a deeper insight into customers’ ever-evolving preferences.”
