The fight over MrBeast Burger is as good as over

Saturday brunch is now restaurants' busiest daypart

More than 10% of all dining dollars are spent from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays, which has replaced Friday lunch as the industry’s peak period, according to new data from Square.

The company said the YouTuber’s public criticism of the virtual brand caused up to $100 million in damages. It counters MrBeast’s own lawsuit, which accused the brand of harming his reputation.

The hospitality magnate and virtual brand collector is making a “massive investment” in his new acquisition and sees plenty of growth still ahead.

The company said it will look to acquire similar concepts and convert them to Twin Peaks as it aims to reach 200 locations in the next several years.

He had been with the chain for 20 years. No reason was given for his departure, and a replacement was not named.

The Dine Brands concepts said guests are gravitating toward discounts and opting for pickup over delivery as prices continue to rise.

The chain said it will finish 2023 with 25 to 35 fewer U.S. locations after identifying more underperforming stores.

Prices were up 10.5% in the second quarter, with additional hikes to come. The chain believes its customers can handle it.

The company accused MrBeast of “bullying” it for more control of the brand and suing when he didn’t get his way. It has hired lawyers and is preparing to fight the case in court.

Owner Bloomin’ Brands now plans to reinvest some of the earnings into boosting traffic, which fell 4% in the second quarter.

The company is rolling out new hardware for its POS and KDS products as it expects to more than double its revenue this year.
