Sandwiches: The gates of creativity

Sandwiches open the gates of creativity.

With so many different types and flavors of breads and an abundance of fillings, this Dagwoodesque treat is a winner. Sandwiches are a perfect lunchtime fare, but can be just as popular for breakfast, dinner, or a quick on-the-go snack. They can be inexpensive and basic like the classics: grilled cheese, peanut butter & jelly, or ham & swiss on rye–or you can design signature items. Stack on the ingredients and have fun constructing sandwiches like smoked mozzarella and roasted eggplant, orange duck with goat cheese, or a lobster roll.

Nowadays, even salads are popping up in sandwiches. There is really no limit as to what ingredients can be incorporated into your sandwich menu. If it tastes good, why not? Dagwood had no problem deciding what to put between two slices of bread, his solution was everything but the kitchen sink.
