Starbucks launches new ‘Happy Mondays’ promotion

Perhaps extending an olive branch to upset loyalty customers, Starbucks yesterday launched a new promotion dubbed Happy Mondays, cutting Starbucks Rewards customers a deal each Monday throughout the month of March.

The deals, which rotate every Monday, include half-price Frappuccinos, half-price snack items and bonus rewards stars for purchases. Customers can claim the deals from 2 p.m. to close, a move poised to boost traffic in the afternoon and evening hours.

Starbucks recently announced changes to its rewards program that drew ire from fans on social media and caused the brand’s consumer perception to drop in the days that followed.
