The Tijuana Flats fast-casual brand has appointed Larry Ryback its new CEO, according to the chain’s parent, TJF USA.

Ryback will be charged with leading the Tex-Mex brand as it looks to continue its expansion efforts, Steven Flyer, the chain’s chairman of the board, noted in a statement.

“[Ryback] brings with him exceptional operational knowledge and I am confident that he will continue the culture that sets Tijuana Flats apart from all others,” Flyer said.

Tijuana Flats last year received an investment from private-equity firm AUA Equity, of which Flyer is a partner, as a catalyst for the 120-unit chain’s growth.

Prior to joining Tijuana Flats, Ryback most recently served as president and COO of growing health-focused brand True Food Kitchen and earlier served as COO of P.F. Chang’s, TJF USA said. He at one point also held the COO role at Kona Grill and Redstone American Grill
