Pollo Tropical adds new dishes to its menu

Pollo Tropical is adding several new dishes to its menu.

The new menu items are part of the chain’s renewal plan, which focuses on offering guests an enhanced menu full of fresher, higher-quality dishes.

The chain has introduced two new entrees—Guava BBQ Ribs and a grilled chicken BLT sandwich—as well as four new side dishes: corn casserole, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes with gravy, and coleslaw. Consumers can also finish their meal with the chain’s new Pollo Cheesecake or signature key lime pie.

Kids will be able to enjoy the new Pollo Tropical kids’ meal, which includes 100% white meat, antibiotic-free crispy chicken bites served with a side dish, a kids’ drink and a chocolate chip cookie.

To celebrate the new menu items, the chain is offering its traditional 1/4 Fire-Grilled Chicken and the new Guava BBQ Ribs, along with rice and beans, for $7.49, and its Grilled Chicken BLT sandwich as a combo with any side dish and a fountain drink for $5.99. Both deals will be available for a limited time.

The addition of the new menu items comes on the heels of Fiesta Restaurant Group’s appointment of Danny Meisenheimer as Pollo Tropical’s president.
