Red Lobster to launch Ultimate Surf & Turf promotion

Red Lobster is introducing a limited-time promotion to appeal to fans of steak and seafood.

Its new Ultimate Surf & Turf menu includes the chain’s classic Surf & Turf, featuring wood-grilled steak and steamed lobster tail, as well as four new Surf & Turf options that offer twists on the pairing. The promotion will debut on Nov. 27.

In addition, the casual-dining brand is menuing two other new items: its Lobster and Shrimp Smashed Potato side and Crispy Crab Bites appetizer.

“We’ve put an exciting new culinary spin on traditional surf and turf to create craveable combinations you can’t find anywhere else,” Dustin Hilinski, executive chef and director of culinary for the chain, said in a statement. “Our guests know us as seafood experts, and we’re excited to show them another side of our culinary expertise with our Certified Grill Masters and the Ultimate Surf and Turf event.”

Red Lobster late last month launched its first-ever mobile app and recently dipped its toes into restaurant delivery.

That drop reflected a net loss of about 9,500 restaurant locations due to an increasingly challenging operating environment. Chain restaurants, however, fared a bit better.
