Dunkin’ on Monday named Rafael Acevedo the company’s U.S. chief marketing officer. He takes the position “effective immediately.”

Acevedo will report to Scott Murphy, who heads the beverage-snack category for Inspire Brands and is Dunkin’s president. Acevedo will also be on the company’s leadership team.

He comes to Dunkin’ from Coca-Cola North America, where he has held various senior management positions in global marketing, innovation and brand transformation. Most recently he was the vice president of marketing and general manager for Coca-Cola’s Tea Portfolio. He also led the relaunch of Diet Coke in 2018.

Murphy called Acevedo a “highly experienced, talented, strong business leader with a proven track record of building and modernizing the world’s most iconic and beloved beverage brands.”

At Dunkin’, Acevedo will lead marketing, product innovation, field marketing, advertising and digital marketing. He will be responsible for “developing and executing strategies that build Dunkin’s position as a leading coffee and beverage brand.”
